Increase in the Personal Expenses Allowance (PEA) for local authority funded care home residents in England

by d.regan 16. March 2011 05:00

The government will increase the PEA of local authority funded care home residents from £22.30 a week to £22.60 a week from the 11th April.

The PEA is a weekly amount of income that care home residents, who are financially assisted by their local authority with their care home fees, are not expected to put towards the basic cost of their care. Local authorities have a discretionary power to increase this amount in a range of circumstances.
