With three months still to go before the 4th March 2011 deadline, there is all the winter yet for artists to plan and prepare a submission to the EAC Over 60s Art Awards. In many ways, it is a good lead-in time, especially for those who enjoy having a project in the long cold months on either side of Christmas.
Some early birds, however, have already entered their work online and by post, and currently the oil painters are neck and neck with the photographers. We are also delighted to have received two entries from Canada and an enquiry from Australia.
Don’t forget that artwork in all mediums is accepted in the EAC Over 60s Art Awards competition, and group collaborative works prepared under the leadership of a therapist or teacher are particularly invited. Last year one such group, ‘The Friends of Coldean’ reached the finals with their exhibit ‘Tea and Memories’. Another group entry, a papier mache sculpture entitled ‘Brian Buzzard’, was submitted by Buxted Court Arts & Crafts Society.
