The consultation runs until February 2010 and the new system of regulation will start on 1st April 2010.
The TSA’s proposals set out how it will:
- Improve standards of service delivery for tenants
- Support decent homes and neighbourhoods
- Promote effective tenant involvement and empowerment
- Ensure providers are well run and deliver value for money
- Promote and protect public and private investment

The TSA is the independent regulator for Housing Associations. After the spring of 2010, subject to parliamentary approval, it will also regulate other social landlords such as local authorities and arms-length management organisations.
